How to Provision Poly Studio X and G7500 with Poly Lens | Onboarding a Single Video Device using Provisioning

In this blog post, I'll show you how to connect a single Studio X Series or G7500 to Lens.

For Spanish speakers:

Note: Studio X and G7500 must be running PolyOS 3.2 or later.

As you may know, there are multiple options to onboard devices to Lens, two of them are as follows:
  • Onboard a device using Provisioning: Register a device one at a time.
  • Onboard all devices via DHCP Auto Discovery: DHCP automatically registers devices to a provisioning server.

First, you need to create a Lens account using Single sign-on (SSO) through your Google, Microsoft or Apple account, or create an account directly on Lens, go to lens.poly.com to do it.

Once you log in, click on Manage, and then Register Device.

We can use three different options, I highly recommend you Visit Provisioning option. Provisioning based onboarding is the best option for managing policies and groups.

Now, the information that we need is as follows:

  • Server Address
  • Server User
  • Password

You must copy and paste the information into Studio X/G7500's web interface.

Let's get into Studio X/G7500's web interface, type in its IP address on your preferred browser, and then enter your credentials.

Note: The default password is the last  six characters of the serial number, you can find it on the back of the device.

Select Servers > Provisioning Server. You must toggle the enable provisioning checkbox to start using Lens Cloud.

Set Authentication Type as Basic, copy the information mentioned above and paste them into requested fields.

Click on Save.

Now, verify Provisioning Service status on web interface, get back to Dashboard and check it out or, you can read Registration Status.

Also, I recommend you verify that your device is in Inventory on Lens Cloud.
